SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

Hi guys, sudah lama nih Mrs. V gak bikin coretan-coretan halus yang berfaedah di blog LINGKAR SEMANGAT tercinta ini. Hehe. Dikarenakan dengan segudang aktivitas yang mulai berdatangan dan main keroyokan gituuuuh. Sudahlah yaaa opening nya gak usah panjang kali lebar kali tinggi. Now,  we learn about SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE. Tapi sebelum lanjut ke materi, Mrs. V mau tanya dulu,  apa sih itu TENSES? Makanan kah? Minuman kah? Atau mainan kah? Menurut Cambridg Dictionary TENSES is any of the forms of a verb which show the time at which an action happened. (Bentuk kata kerja yang menunjukkan waktu terjadinya suatu perbuatan atau peristiwa).

Sekarang Mrs. V mau bahas dulu simple present tense. What do you think of  simple present tense??? Simple present tense yaitu penyataan atau kegiatan yang terjadi sekarang.

Simple present tense is used for the following reasons:

1.Things that are true in general.

Example: Fruits and vegetables contain a lot of vitamins

2. For habits or for things that happen sometimes or all the time.

The following adverbs are commonly used for simple present tense: never, sometimes, usually, frequently, often, always.

Example: Mr. Bill and Mrs. Bill always visit their grandchildren.

Simple present tense terbagi dua jenis yaitu Verbal sentence dan Nominal sentence.

Verbal sentence adalah kalimat yang mengandung kata kerja

The formula of simple present tense:

(+) Positive sentence:

Subject + Verb 1 (s,es,ies) + Object/ Adverb

Untuk subject I, You, We, They tidak ada penambahan huruf (s,es,ies dalam kata kerja)

Contoh:

Mr. Jack lives alone at home

They usually read a novel every night

(-) Negative sentence:

Do untuk subject I, You, They, We

Does untuk subject She, He, It

Subject + do/ does + not + Verb 1+ Object/ Adverb

Contoh:

Mr. Jack doesn’t live alone at home

They don’t read a novel every night

(?) Interrogative sentence:

Do/does + Subject + Verb1 + Object/ Adverb + ?

Contoh:

Does Mr. Jack live alone at home?

Do they read a novel every night?

 

Penambahan (s), (es) pada verb untuk kalimat positive

Langsung + s

Live+s menjadi lives

Read+s menjadi reads

 

Verb yang berakhiran

ch (teach + es à teaches)

sh (wash + es à washes)

s (pass + es à passes)

x (fix + es à fixes)

o (go + es à goes)

z (quiz + es à quizzes)

 

Verb yang berakhiran “y” dan didahului huruf konsonan (b, g, r, c, m, k, d)

Maka :

Y à I + es (study à studies)

 

Apabila ada kata kerja bantu can, must, should, would tidak boleh ada penambahan s, es

Contoh : He must goes   à He must go

 

Nominal sentence adalah kalimat yang tidak mengandung kata kerja tetapi kata benda atau non verb

The formula of nominal sentence:

Positive (+) Subject + am/is/are + non verb

Negative (-) Subject + am/is/are + not + non verb

Interrogative (?) am/is/are + Subject + non verb + ?

 

Example:

(+) She is really happy

(-) She is not really happy

(?) is she really happy?

 

I à am

You à are

We à are

They à are

She à is

He à is

It à is

 

Change the sentences into positive, negative or interrogative!

Ubahlah kalimat tersebut menjadi kalimat positif, negative ataupun kalimat tanya!

POSITIVE	NEGATIVE	INTERROGATIVE
Mrs. Vianti teaches me English every week	…	…
…	Sunlight doesn’t help plants grow	…
…	…	Does he work in a BANK?
You are handsome boy	…	…
…	We are not smart	…
